October Update

Watched all of the World Series, with the exception of innings 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 of the longest game ever.  I had really no vested interest, so it was fun to cheer for all good plays and complain about the bad.  So GO SOX!!!!!!!

I am still working on the house:  my mermaid pillows just arrived for the upstairs guest room and I LOVE them!!!

Love the pop of color and they will entertain any guests ~ sort of an ETCH-A-Sketch with sequins.

I also went and voted today.

No lines and it was old school, I had to color in the circles.  

It looks like it is going to be a nice night for Halloween.......I may have to get more candy.

Moving Back to Maryland??????????????????????????????????

I forgot to put this in the last blog about my trip up to Maryland.  Guess what has been built in Annapolis?  Two Marijuana Dispensaries.  Yep.  One on Route 2 next to the Kalas Funeral Home and one right on the corner of West Street and Route 2.  I told Amy and she said "We are moving back to Maryland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"  

Quite possibly in 5 years............

AND, I drove by our old house.  Mom would be so disappointed.  They cleared all the trees front and back and sides.  There is one big tree between our house and the house that was on the left as you looked at our house.  You can see our chain link fence all the way around!  I am sorry I didn't get a picture.

Is It Really the End of October?????

The weather people are going on and on about cold weather......today it 66 and it is going downhill from there.  I went to Home Depot and got the fancy covers for the outdoor faucets ~ I realize that it might be overkill, but you can never be sure.  We did have a bit of frost this morning.

We had the gutters installed on the house ~ they go all the way around and all over.  Amy thinks we have more gutters than we ever had on a house.  Now we have to get the trays that help move the water away from the house.

On the voting front, early voting is going great down here.  Amy and I are voting on Friday.

I took a quick trip up to Maryland over the weekend ~ I needed to go and see my old friend Miss Marcia at Ginger Cove.  It turns out that it was her birthday and we had a great visit.  
I stayed with Nancy and Drew and we had a wonderful time and I ate fabulously at Chez Nancy and Drew!  Honestly, she had chocolates in my room, a robe on the door and soaps everywhere in the bathroom!!!! Very nice!

I did laugh at this book in the downstairs powder room.

I called Holly and had dinner with Holly, Paul, Carol and Bob Turman, met a GC friend at Mikes, and went over to see Torii and Bruce.  Knocked it all out of the park! 

Amy let me drive her car and it was so comfortable ~ only heart palpitations went off when I drove over the 301 bridge in the dark!  I cannot remember if I have ever done that!

Second Guest Room.....

With the ending of Hurricane Micheal came beautiful blue skies, cooler temperatures and......surprise......the new bedspreads were delivered!!!!

This is good because Jane is here with two of her friends, Margaret and Nicole.

They took Margaret to the airport where she is flying to meet her parents and her sisters in Minneapolis to go to Margaret's twin sister for Carlton College's Parents Weekend.  Jane and Nicole are then going shopping with Amy.

I LOVE it and we are now all ready for company.  The closets upstairs will continue to be a work in progress, but what the heck.......

Still A Work in Progress

Ok, I continue to move stuff around and I continue or actually finally finished getting the boxes out of the last guest room.  I also set up both twin guest beds.  Which then caused me to order two new twin bedspreads.....those haven't arrived yet and when they do I will take more pictures.

Here is where I am:

Believe it or not, this is covering the light that shines into Amy's room at night.  My room is closer and it doesn't bother me.
