September Happenings

I believe Summertime is going to hang on for a while......it is going to blow by the first of fall.  I am not going to put out fall until October, but I did get completely sucked in by Halloween candy.

Jane and some friends from Elon marched for Climate Change in Greensboro and saw Bernie Sanders speak.  You girls rock!!!!!!

Jim made a quick trip to Cedar Rapids to deliver Carolyn's car to her and he got to see her office at Iowa.

Carolyn and David

Daily pickings from the tomato plants.  They are so good!  I gave some tomatoes to a guy at work and he is going to harvest the seeds and plant them in his garden.

A little visitor in my raised garden

Our neighbors dog, Blue, is fascinated with the birds.
Amy is feeling better.  She sees the doctor tomorrow to take the stitches out.  Her hand still hurts alot but hopefully she will get a splint tomorrow .

Luckily, Dorian Blew By

We were prepared for Hurricane Dorian.  Lots of non perishables and the all important:

Fireball

Picture taken by Garrett Black in a C-130 Hercules with USNA midshipmen aboard inside the eye of Dorian
We got a bit of rain and some wind ~ we were right on the far edge of Dorian so we basically got nothing, which was a good thing!!!!!!

This is Amy's first day up and out of bed ~ there has been no swelling of her hand in the cast, which is great.  Today, she is driving to the barn with the dogs to see the horses.  No riding, no messing around.  She does not want to "mess up" the work that was done.

Carolyn was in town for the Labor Day weekend:

Our fantastic neighbor, Rhonda, had the baby shower for her daughter Alexa.  We think Alexa and Maren were at Duke together.  Anyway, the shower was fantastic!

Rhonda MADE this quilt for the baby.  You cannot tell, but DUKE was quilted all through out the basketball floor.

It was a great party.
