A Celebration of Val ~ 2 Years Late (Thank You COVID ~Not)

It is hard to believe that 2 years ago, 2020, Val graduated from NYU. Nancy had it all planned and then COVID set in and changed everything. But, this year 2022, NYU decided to celebrate the classes of 2020 and 2021. So Nancy again made the plans and we went. I drove to Davidsonville and met Nancy, Drew and Val and we went up to New York on the Acela train.
A beautiful day for a train ride

Val leads the way

Honestly, Val was so impressive!  He knows the subway system and uses it to go everywhere!  He walks everywhere ~ New York City is his city.

And the first (and only) famous person I see......Nate Burkus!!!!!!!

We stayed at the very nice Hyatt Union Square

We went to a huge block party celebrating the graduates

We met Val's friends who came in for graduation

The program for the graduation ceremony

Yankee Stadium
There were ALOT of people!!!!  2022 graduated there in the morning ~ Taylor Swift was the commencement speaker in the morning and evidently there was a problem with scalping of tickets to "Swifties",
After graduation ~ managed to find Val!!!!

Proud Graduate

Val's diploma

What a fantastic trip!  I was introduced to Uber Black ~ a fantastic way to get around New York City!!!! Drew, you are the best!!! We also went to a most delicious steak house, The Strip and a terrific sushi place, Japonica.  These are Val's favorite places to eat.  And thank you to Val for helping me order in Japonica because Aunt Leslie knows nothing about sushi.

Arrived back in Maryland and got to see the new Morin estate ~ and that is another story!

~ Love, Leslie
