August Was Exciting for Some

August is the month where we really don't see anyone out and about in the neighborhood.  It is hot and humid and most of the families are on vacation.  So it is usually very quiet.

I am living through the William's family ~ Jane went home for a couple of weeks and they rented a place in Mendocino. Then Carole and Emma went to Seoul, South Korea ~ I believe for Emma to see a friend and practise her use of the Korean language.  But really they went so Carole could visit the shrine to BTS.  Yes, the Korean boy band.

The view from their place

Heaven......also known as the visit to the BTS Shrine

On the Hardin side of the family, here are the newest photos of Thomas.  Who will be two years old on September 17.

Amy and I sent this tent masquerading as a fire truck

The summertime patio ~ note Jane's Oak tree to the left of the blue chair.  It is doing great!

I was watering some Black-Eyed Susans that grew from seed and I noticed something in the pot.  So I pulled it out.

Gypsy buried her chicken in the pot.  The Zombie Chicken has arisen!!!

The Zombie Chicken

I was finishing the vaccuming and was winding up the cord and I could feel something.....Yes, Amy squirting me with a squirtgun thru the door.  :)

Amy has COVID again!!!! And is more miserable that the first time!  So be careful out there!!!!

Much love,
Leslie

How Long Does Summer Really Last?

I admit, I have been a terrible blogger lately.  What with texting and immediate gratification and nice middle of the road living and shear laziness ~ I have let things slide.  Well, it is time to get back in the saddle.

First off......woooo weee it has been hot and humid!

I don't know why I get up and shower before I go outside or go to my compost volunteer gig because I am drenched with sweat in a matter of minutes!!!!

This is my view every Saturday at 7:30am.  Since it is over 80 they put up a tent for me.  Please note my mask that I do wear and my iced tea.  Preparation is the key!

And, because it is so hot, we leave out sodas, water and snacks for the delivery guys and who ever walks by.

Snack time!!!!

These went in the ground June 5.

The incredibly leggy tomato plant and the honey suckle today, August 5.

Transplanted black eyed Susans.

Jane and Tony ~ note Carole and Emma dodging the photo.

We had Chris Horak's oldest daughter, Maddie, with us for about 10 days.  She came out to investigate the law school's in the area and see Maren in action.  Jim did not have any cases, so she watched "The Staircase Murder".  Always fun!

I am still decorating our neighbor's yard art, Miss Penelope.

This is her chillin' in summer look.

And the other wild life in the house is enjoying his shower.

And in closing, here is Amy's newest accessory....

The dragon is extra.

Much love,
Leslie

PS ~ the first day of fall is in 45 (or so) days
