What Good is January Anyway?

Lights Lights Lights!!!!!

First off, it was a lovely Christmas.  We did look like Las Vegas, but I love the lights!!! Amy, Jane, Rhonda and I did carry out from PF Changs for Christmas Eve.....delicious! And we opened presents and we did it again on Christmas Day!  Jane had her original flight canceled to go home for Christmas  because of the monster winter storm in the middle of the country but she was able to reschedule and get out on Christmas Day.  And then we went back to Rhonda's for lovely appetizers.  Yum yum yum!

Thomas came with his parents to NC, but we didn't see them ~ but he did like his Christmas present!!!

The winter storm I mentioned, the weather men all got in a tizzy because there were rumors of maybe a white Christmas here, but no.  It got down to 8 degrees!!!!!!!! Oh My God!!!! I channeled Dad and had water dripping and the sink cabinets opened.  And we had neighbors on our street who did not do that and their water pipes blew!!!!!

And, it just dawned on me that I FORGOT to do the ultimate experient by throwing water up into the air when it was that cold to see what would happen.  The question is:  do you throw a bowl of cold water or a bowl or hot water?  My science teachers would have been so proud.  Next time.

Merry Christmas indeed!!!

It was mind boggling cold.  And then, a week later, back to 60.

The garage was my de-staging area

Rhonda's dog, Blue, helped me take down the porch lights.

Bare boring dark space

I did leave the little dogwood by the driveway lit up ~ a little beacon of light because it is so dark without the Christmas lights!!!!!

Jane flew back from California yesterday evening and left this morning to drive to an interview in upstate NY.  It is (I believe) for a job helping to take care of animals at a rescue farm.  I hope she gets it if she wants it.

In the sports world, Navy lost to Army and the Navy athletic director fired the loved Navy coach in the locker room!!!!!!! Terrible!!!! Georgia Southern lost in the Camilla Bowl and Georgia pounded TCU for the National Championship.  And, there are about 80 days until Opening Day in baseball.

Before I close, I have to share this picture of the Greatest Christmas Elf ever!!!!!

Love to all,

~Leslie
