Memorial Day Weekend

First off, I did watch the Virginia vs Yale in the National Championship lacrosse game and such memories ~ driving to College Park with Drew and cutting across 3 lanes of traffic to take the exit to see Virginia.  I do believe I actually scared Drew that day.  Anyway, congrats to the Hoos!!!!!

Jesse on vacation in the great Southwest

Beach towels......horse pads ~ you say tomato I say tamato......

Amy was "playing around" on a trail ride and fell off.  One trip to Urgent Care and two staples later.......

Amy has no concussion but is sore.  But as she says "horseplay leads to sick bay".....

Much love,
Leslie

It Finally Feels Like Summer!

I just came in from the morning watering.  I did sleep in to 8am so I got a late start.  But everything is shaping up.

The back porch

The front porch

The raised bed all planted

Jane, Amy and I were in the back yard while Amy was throwing the ball for the dogs.
The weather man said we reached 100 degrees yesterday ~ I only saw 95 in my car.  But, I have the sprinklers and timers set up.  I only have to fill the gator bags on the trees a couple of times a week and I manually water the pots on the porches and the raised bed every morning.

It is really relaxing to see the hummingbirds come to their feeder and the birds come to theirs.

The sky last night.
Jane up on Jake ~ which makes Amy (the photographer in the shadow) very happy.  Plus, note Gypsy on the right.
Jane is here for about a month which is very nice.  Her friend, India, will be back in a week and will be with us until they can move into their apartment at school.  They both have jobs over the summer at Elon.

Enjoy!

Leslie

April Showers.............

Rain, rain, rain ~ we had flash flooding warnings yesterday and Yes, as I was driving to Nana's house after work the crazy rhyme about not driving across moving water ran thru my head.  Here is our back yard:

Even after the two hurricanes last year we didn't have this much water in the back yard! A great side affect, it is washing the pollen away.

Lots of Pollen!!!!!
Whoops, another flash flooding warning and Hillsborough was mentioned and they said the rhyme, "Turn Around Don't Drown".   No going out today!

Outside Mary Disher's house in Minnesota
And yes, it could be worse!!!! Mary has 3 feet of snow outside of her house in Minnesota!!! Wow!!!!!!

Maren and Jane at Sunday night dinner
Oh, a please note the bottle of Fireball in front of Amy ........ a great photo bomb.

Navy is playing Army in their 100th meeting in lacrosse today in Annapolis ~ Go Navy!!!!!

Happy April!!!!!! We have had Spring Break ~ well the people around us have had Spring Break....Jane went to Lake Tahoe and Texas:

This is obviously Lake Tahoe ~ I have no proof of Texas

Amy and Gypsy.  Gypsy is Loki's half sister and is 8 months old ~ and is full grown.

Gypsy's first evening at home.

Jane came over immediately to become acquainted with Gypsy.

And check it out, this is Bracket #5 ~ done especially for Drew ~ GO Waahoos!!!!!!

I am already involved in Baseball ~ Amy got me the MLB package and I get to see everyone but the Nationals and Orioles (they are blacked out in North Carolina).  So I am loving the Astros, the Giants, the Brewers, the Rays....pretty much everyone.

Enjoy your Spring!

Riley and Ava come for Spring Break

These dogs belong to Carolyn and David.  Since they are in Korea, the dogs are staying with Lori and Jim.  Lori and Jim went to the beach, so Riley and Ava came here.

And it appears, that they have settled in.

Much love,
Leslie

Saturday in March

We had two glorious above 70 degree days ~ the kind where you roll your windows down and turn up the radio and enjoy the drive.  And then Mother Nature says "well hold on there..." and we are back in the low 50's.  And a low tonight of 29 ~ Come on man!!!!!!!!

The driveway leading to Nana's house.

I see these and I am determined to plant bulbs this fall.

My Christmas cactus is now blooming.

Amy giving Jesse "the Claw" ~ all she really has to do is say The Claw and he laughs.  I believe it was a teaching moment she used when the kids were little.

Amy with Loki (on our left) visiting with his family.

Jake completely eclipsing Seabee. Oh, if you notice the different shades on Jake, his winter coat is clipped - he gets very hot.
I have a pair of blue birds who visit my bird feeders.  It is time to get the others up and the hummingbird feeder ready to go.

The Lovebird had a bath and he does look like a drowned rat.

The guys who work at Evertune bring me the bags of candy that come from Sweetwater Guitars ~ what a deal.

I wish everyone a beautiful day and a Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Love,
Leslie
