Oh Our Aching Backs!

Mom wanted to get in bed by 8 pm so she could watch the two episodes of "The Closer". At around 9:30pm I heard her call me.  So I go to the room.  She is on the floor in front of her bedroom door, sitting on her fanny.  She said she had gotten up and then sat on the edge of her bed and down she went.

I have asked her a million times not to sit on the edge of the bed.

Anyway, I had her scoot herself over to the bed - and she did it moaning and bitching the entire way.

Amy was at puppy kindergarten part 2 and was not at home.

I can't pick her up by myself.  Luckily Amy gets home to save the day.

Mom would rather do anything than listen to me - and it was a comedy of horrors trying to get her into bed.  But, we finally got her in.

I just sent a note to her doctor asking for a referral for a physical therapist to come over to the house to suggest some ideas for adaptive equipment that Mom can use to help her get into bed safely.  And I asked if the therapist could come over and do exercises with Mom. She does not do anything - no matter if it comes from Lori or Amy.

I am persona non grata. And probably deservedly so.

Love, Leslie

PS ~ Mom's doctor is arranging for a physical therapist to come out and do a home safety evaluation and make some recommendations.
