Bad Day at Black Rock.....

Some days are better than others.  On Monday after work, I discovered I had a VERY flat tire.  So I had to call USAA to get roadside assistance.  Of course it was raining.  I had a difficult time with USAA because it seems someone there decided to put my insurance under Amy's insurance, so none of my codes or numbers were working.

I finally got some help and my tire was changed so I could go home.

On Tuesday I had an 8am dentist appointment (never again at that time) ~ I love my dentist in Durham and will keep him, I will just schedule my appointments after work.

So I go to work.  After work I go to the tire place and replace all four tires.  I leave the tire place and am driving on Hillsborough Road in the left lane to go home.  Please note that it is about 5:15pm and traffic is busy.  As I pass Zaxby's restaurant, a girl pulls out of Zaxbys and makes a illegal left turn going across the 3 lanes of traffic.  As she shoots thru, she doesn't see me and plows into the passenger side of my car.  I have had my new tires for 5 minutes!!!!

This is the bad tire - I think the axle is bent
She hits me and causes the back end of my 4-runner to swing around clock wise and my car stops now pointing into the Zaxby's driveway and blocking all 3 lanes of traffic.  I am grateful that I didn't hit anyone!

As I look up when my car stops, I see Lori driving around the crash.  I blow my horn and catch her attention and yell to her to pull over, which she does.

My car does not want to move, but I cannot leave it totally blocking traffic, so I make it move forward into the Zaxby's drive where it completely stops.

The police come.  I call Amy at the barn and she comes to get me.  My car gets towed because it is immoveable.  The girl gets a ticket and is able to drive away in her RAV-4.

Lori and Amy were wonderful.

Amy is then driving me home and says "Leslie, I have one more bit of bad news to make this day complete for you."  I tell her to go ahead.  She tells me that she has found my secret stash of Cadbury Easter eggs and ate all of them.  And that I need to hide them better from her.  Really?

What can I say.  Not the best of days.

But, I am ok.  And all is well.

Love, Leslie
