Is Winter Over Yet?

We had a monster storm on Sunday.  Carole was here.  Her friends had left to go to the airport to try and get out early.  I was like "early from what?"  So I looked at my handy dandy radar app and sure enough a big storm.  But we watched thru the windows and it was ........nothing?  Some rain, some wind.  Not much.  Her friends kept texting her from the airport.  We kept an eye on the radar.  Then we got dark and wind and rain for 10 minutes and then nothing.  Amy and Emma got home from the barn and Jane came over and was hungry so they decided to drive to Greensboro which is west of us to go to Chipolte because we figured the weather would be worse in Durham which is east of us.  Because, you know, the storm was moving west to east.

Nope.  The storm was moving south to north and we were on the edge as the storm moved.  The Chipolte team took so long I got worried, but just as I was hitting send on the text, I heard the garage door open.

They said it was TERRIBLE west of us!  Trees down, lines down, police out.  They made it to Chipolte but coming home was the worst!  Schools have been closed in Guilford County because of the tornado and the damage that it did.  We live right on the very edge of Guilford County, so we were very lucky!!!!
Poor Bennett was pacing and going up and down the stairs ~ Carole said he was looking for our non-existent cellar.  We figured the pressure dropped and he knew it.

Jane, Carole and Emma on their way to Chipolte

Here is Hector who brought over some big rocks for Amy.
Today it is 80 degrees and tomorrow and the weekend it is supposed to be cooler.  I bet we go right from winter to three days of Spring and then right into summer.

Much love,
Leslie
