Our First Trip to the Doctor

Mom woke up yesterday with pain in her ear and around the jaw area.  Not really an ear-ache, but pain.  She wanted a pain pill and lay low for the day.

This morning, when I took her breakfast and coffee, she asked me what I planned to do today.  I said "open more boxes, put stuff away...."  She said, "No, you are taking me to the doctor."  Yippee!!!!!

We went to Duke Urgent Care.  Easy to get to and very nice.  We were there for almost 3 hours, but no problem.  Mom saw a doctor and he could find nothing wrong. And she said he thought arthritis.   But he did prescribe her additional pain medication (that she uses when she gets her eye shots).  Hmmm, should I be concerned about the ease in getting Tramadol?????? And then again, maybe not.  (Here is an update:  I looked at the paperwork that Mom brought home from the doctor.  He gave her a ton of information on TMJ ~ temporomandibular joint disorder.  Not arthritis.)

Brought Mom home, gave her a pill and a glass of wine and her lunch.  (What a life.) Took the dogs out for a walk on the trail in the Eno River State Park - so basically, all life forms in this house, except me, are taking a nap.

I have the ACC Tournament on and am opening boxes. Oh, just got off the phone with Amy.  The people who are interested in the house came over with a contractor and someone who knew the rules and regs. of the county.  It seems that the prospective buyers are interested in adding a mother-in-law suite - and the rule with the county that if the addition is over 1000 square feet, then the property has to be reperked.  1000 square feet seems like alot to me, and the prospective buyers evidently have added on and added on so much to their house in Arnold, that there is no where for them to go, so they have to move.  The plus to that, they are used to living in a construction zone!  (I know, don't count your chickens!!!!)

This is what the stair runner will look like.  We chose the Navy in the lower right.
The runner will go be installed in about 10 days - and it will make a huge difference since the stairs are bare wood.

Back to the boxes!
Love,
Leslie

  1. I love the look of the runner and I think navy was such a good choice. Although it really does look good in all of the colors. I also kind of like the second from the top and the green. Maybe it is because it makes the pattern stick out more because the colors are so opposed. Looks great though!
